- CAD/CAM | Perfect Dental | Dental Technology
CAD/CAM is an acronym for computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing. Used for decades in the manufacturing industry to produce precision tools, parts and automobiles, CAD/CAM technology has been increasingly incorporated into dentistry over the past 20 years. CAD/CAM CAD/CAM is an acronym for computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing. Used for decades in the manufacturing industry to produce precision tools, parts and automobiles, CAD/CAM technology has been increasingly incorporated into dentistry over the past 20 years. CAD/CAM technology and metal-free materials are used by dentists and dental laboratories to provide patients with milled ceramic crowns, veneers, onlays, inlays and bridges. Dental CAD/CAM also is used to fabricate abutments for dental implants, used to replace missing teeth. As the materials and technology available for CAD/CAM dentistry have improved over the years, so too have the restorations that patients can receive from this form of digital dentistry. Today's CAD/CAM restorations are better-fitting, more durable and more natural looking (multi-colored and translucent, similar to natural teeth) than previously machined restorations. In-Office and Dental Laboratory CAD/CAM Options Dental CAD/CAM technology is available for dental practices and dental laboratories, enabling dentists and their staff (or a laboratory technician) to design restorations on a computer screen. The CAD/CAM computer displays a 3-D custom image of your prepared tooth or teeth obtained by digitally capturing the preparations with an optical scanner. Alternatively, the 3-D images can be obtained by scanning a traditional model obtained from conventional impressions of the preparations. The dentist or laboratory technician then uses those 3-D images and CAD software to draw and design the final restoration. The amount of time it takes for a dentist, in-office restoration designer or laboratory technician to design a restoration varies based on skill, experience, and complexity of case and treatment. Some cases could take minutes, while others could require a half-hour or more of design time to ensure quality. Once the final restoration is designed, the crown, inlay, onlay, veneer or bridge is milled from a single block of ceramic material in a milling chamber. The restoration then can be customized with stains and glazes to create a more natural look, before being fired in an oven (similar to ceramics and pottery), and then finished and polished. Benefits of CAD/CAM Dentistry Research suggests that today's milled CAD/CAM restorations are stronger than those milled from earlier materials. They also are less likely to fracture. One of the advantages of CAD/CAM technology is that if your dentist has the technology in office, same day dentistry may be a treatment option for you. CAD/CAM dental technologies such as CEREC in-office or the E4D Dentist System can be used to make an inlay, onlay, crown or veneer restoration in a single appointment, while you wait. If your dentist offers in-office CAD/CAM, you do not require traditional impressions, a temporary restoration or a second appointment. You will only receive local anesthetic (be numbed) once for any necessary tooth preparations. An exception to this process is the all-ceramic bridge, since it is created in a laboratory using the CAD/CAM technology. All-ceramic bridge restorations require a second office visit to insert the bridge. In such cases, a temporary restoration would be necessary. Another exception is if your dentist prefers to fabricate the CAD/CAM restoration while you are not in the office, making it a two-appointment process. Some dentists prefer this approach in order to dedicate more time to the design and characterization processes involved with creating a CAD/CAM restoration. A temporary also would be required in this instance Special Considerations for CAD/CAM Dentistry CAD/CAM technology is not a replacement for the accuracy and talent provided by a dentist or dental laboratory technician. Dentists must be precise in creating the initial tooth preparation; both dentists and laboratory technicians must be accurate when taking the digital impression and drawing the restoration. Equally important is the accuracy and skill with which they design a restoration, particularly since the fit of a restoration is critical to preventing future tooth damage. For example, an ill-fitted crown, veneer, inlay or onlay can leave space between the teeth, or between the tooth preparation and the restoration. This could lead to an increased risk of infection or disease. When to Choose CAD/CAM Dentistry It is important to note that not every tooth can be treated with a CAD/CAM restoration. Your dentist will determine if a CAD/CAM restoration is among the appropriate treatment options for your condition. Additionally, despite improvements in the esthetics of CAD/CAM materials, patients may find that some CAD/CAM restorations look too opaque and lack natural characterizations. Depending on the type of restoration that's needed (such as inlays/onlays), your dentist may prefer conventional laboratory fabrication techniques that have a longer and more proven track record for accuracy of fit. Therefore, patients must discuss their particular situation and desires with their dentist, who will make the final treatment decision based on a thorough examination. Cost of CAD/CAM Restorations All-ceramic restorations, including those fabricated at a dental laboratory using CAD/CAM technology, tend to be a more expensive restorative solution. However, even though the materials for CAD/CAM restorations might cost more, the expense incurred by the dental laboratory and/or the dentist may not be passed onto the patient. Also, there is no additional fee or cost to have a restoration placed in one visit as opposed to two. Insurance reimbursement is similar for in-office, same day dentistry or laboratory-fabricated restorations.

- Wisdom Tooth | Perfect Dental | Oral Surgery
By this time, the other 28 adult teeth are usually in place, so there isn't always enough room in the mouth for the wisdom teeth to grow properly. Wısdom Tooth The wisdom teeth grow at the back of your gums and are the last teeth to come through. Most people have four wisdom teeth – one in each corner. Wisdom teeth usually grow through the gums during the late teens or early twenties. By this time, the other 28 adult teeth are usually in place, so there isn't always enough room in the mouth for the wisdom teeth to grow properly. Because of the lack of space, wisdom teeth can sometimes emerge at an angle or get stuck and only partially emerge. Wisdom teeth that grow through like this are known as impacted. When to see a dentist? You should make an appointment to see your dentist if your wisdom teeth are causing severe pain. They'll check your teeth and advise you whether they need to be removed. If your dentist thinks you may need to have your wisdom teeth removed, they'll usually carry out an X-ray of your mouth. This gives them a clearer view of the position of your teeth. As with any teeth problems, it's important to see your dentist as soon as possible, rather than waiting for your regular dental check-up. Why are wisdom teeth removed? Your wisdom teeth don't usually need to be removed if they're impacted but aren't causing any problems. This is because there's no proven benefit of doing this and it carries the risk of complications. Sometimes, wisdom teeth that have become impacted or haven't fully broken through the surface of the gum can cause dental problems. Food and bacteria can get trapped around the edge of the wisdom teeth, causing a build-up of plaque, which can lead to: tooth decay (dental caries) gum disease (also called gingivitis or periodontal disease) pericoronitis – when plaque causes an infection of the soft tissue that surrounds the tooth cellulitis – a bacterial infection in the cheek, tongue or throat abscess – a collection of pus in your wisdom teeth or the surrounding tissue as a result of a bacterial infection cysts and benign growths – very rarely, a wisdom tooth that hasn't cut through the gum develops a cyst (a fluid-filled swelling) Many of these problems can be treated with antibiotics and antiseptic mouthwash. Wisdom teeth removal is usually recommended when other treatments haven't worked. Dentists and surgeons follow nationally approved guidelines for the removal of wisdom teeth. Possible Complications As with all surgery, there are risks associated with removing a wisdom tooth. These include infection or delayed healing, both of which are more likely if you smoke during your recovery. Another possible complication is "dry socket", which is a dull, aching sensation in your gum or jaw, and sometimes a bad smell or taste coming from the empty tooth socket. Dry socket is more likely if you don't follow the after-care instructions given by your dentist. There's also a small risk of nerve damage, which can cause a tingling or numb sensation in your tongue, lower lip, chin, teeth and gums. This is usually temporary, but in rare cases it can be permanent. Read more about the possible complications of wisdom tooth removal.

Periodontal procedures such as soft tissue grafting are available to stop further dental problems and gum recession, while improving the look of your gum tissues. Soft Tissue Grafting Periodontal procedures such as soft tissue grafting are available to stop further dental problems and gum recession, while improving the look of your gum tissues. Exposed tooth roots are the result of gum recession. Perhaps you wish to enhance your smile by covering one or more of these roots that make your teeth appear too long. Or, maybe you’re not bothered by the appearance of these areas, but you cringe because the exposed roots are sensitive to hot or cold foods and liquids. Your gums may have receded for a variety of reasons, including aggressive tooth brushing or periodontal disease. Once these contributing factors are controlled, a soft tissue graft procedure will repair the defect and help to prevent additional recession and bone loss. Soft tissue grafts can be used to cover roots or augment gum tissue that is insufficient. A type of tissue called an allograft can be used to avoid the need to take tissue from the palate thereby reducing a second surgical site and post-operative discomfort. This can be done for one tooth or several teeth to even your gum line and reduce sensitivity. Covering exposed roots can also prevent cavities from forming on these surfaces. Gum grafting may also be necessary before crowns and bridges are planned. If teeth lack a band of bound tissue at the gum line, recession and secondary decay can occur after crowns and bridges are placed. Secondary decay is common in patients who suffer dry mouth. Aftercare bleaching, aftercare, oral surgery, after care dental crowns Aftercare AFTERCARE FOR ROOT CANAL TREATMENT After root canal treatment it is normal to experience slight discomfort for a few days. Since the teeth will be anesthetized, the tongue, lips and the roof of the mouth may be numb. Please refrain from eating and drinking hot beverages until the numbness is completely worn off. It is normal to experience some pressure sensitivity after each appointment. The sensitivity should subside within a few weeks after the root canal treatment is completed.Mild pain medications may also be used. Brushing your teeth properly is the first step towards making the results of your teeth whitening last. You should develop the habit of brushing not just in the morning when you rise and at night before you go to bed, but also after every meal. Thefood we eat can stain our teeth, especially wine and drinks that contain caffeine. Why should you allow the staining on your teeth to build up again because of improper dental hygiene? Use whitening toothpastes. Whitening toothpastes have bleaching agents as active ingredients that can help oxidise the stain from the teeth. Although the concentration of these bleaching agents is low, these bleaching agents nonetheless help in breaking down the stains from your teeth before they become discoloured again and undo the results of you teeth whitening. Cut back on your drinking and smoking. Frequent consumption of alcoholic drinks such as wine have tannins that can stain teeth. The same goes for the nicotine in tobacco. AFTERCARE FOR EXTRACTION After to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. That’s why we ask you to bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times. After the blood clot forms, it is important not to disturb or dislodge the clot as it aids healing. Do not rinse vigorously, suck on straws, smoke, drink alcohol or brush teeth next to the extraction site for 72 hours. These activities will dislodge or dissolve the clot and retard the healing process. Limit vigorous exercise for the next 24 hours as this will increase blood pressure and may cause more bleeding from the extraction site. After the tooth is extracted you may feel some pain and experience some swelling. An ice pack or an unopened bag of frozen peas or corn applied to the area will keep swelling to a minimum. Take pain medications as prescribed. The swelling usually subsides after 48 hours. It is important to resume your normal dental routine after 24 hours. This should include brushing and flossing your teeth at least once a day. This will speed healing and help keep your mouth fresh and clean. The gum tissue could have been irritated during the procedure and may be sore for a few days. The anesthetic injection site may also feel sore or bruised. If you have any other questions or concerns, please call our office.
- Mini Dental Implants | Perfect Dental | Didim Implant
Mini dental implants are a type of dental implant that is commonly used in your lower jaw to stabilize dentures. Mini Dental Implants Mini dental implants are a type of dental implant that is commonly used in your lower jaw to stabilize dentures. As the name suggests, they are smaller than the typical implants used for implant-supported restorations. Mini dental implants have a diameter of approximately 1.8 millimeters to 3.3 millimeters. The other major difference between regular dental implants and mini implants is their design. Where regular implants are designed to have replacement teeth screwed on to them, mini dental implants have a ball on the exposed ends. Your dentures are then secured into place on these balls and secured with O-rings. This design holds your dentures securely in place while still allowing them to be removed for regular cleaning. How are Mini Dental Implants Placed? The procedure for mini dental implants is similar to the procedure for regular dental implants. However, because the implants are smaller, the procedure is much less invasive, takes less time, and has a shorter recovery period. After small incisions are made in your gums, small holes are drilled into your jawbone. The posts are placed into the jaw, and your gums are sutured closed around them. Because the procedure is less invasive, your dentures can be stabilized the same day. However, you may experience some discomfort during the first couple of days following the placement of your mini implants. Pain medication may be provided to help you deal with this discomfort. Avoid hard, sticky, and chewy foods for a few days. Once you have fully healed, you can resume your normal diet. Placing and Removing Dentures While your dentures are secured by mini dental implants, they must still be removed to clean them. To place your denture, grasp the teeth on each side and gently seat them over the balls of the implant posts. The O-rings should be over them. Using light pressure, snap your denture into place. To remove your denture, place your thumbs under each side and gently push them free. Make sure to apply equal pressure to each side. Caring for Your Mini Dental Implants In addition to caring for your dentures, you must also take care of your implant posts. Brush the posts as you would your natural teeth. These areas, just like your teeth, can collect plaque and bacteria that can lead to gum disease. Make sure that you clean around the ball of each implant thoroughly. It is also important to clean around the O-ring fixtures. Keeping these fixtures clean will help to ensure proper seating and denture retention.

These pumped deposits, which we refer to as bacterial plaques, are the head of tooth decay and gingivitis, and over time deposits of saliva form the resulting tooth stones. Periodontics When the teeth are not properly cleaned, the food residues that accumulate on them and between them produce bacteria. These pumped deposits, which we refer to as bacterial plaques, are the head of tooth decay and gingivitis, and over time deposits of saliva form the resulting tooth stones. Microorganisms that breed in the bacterial plaque produce acid by breaking down sugary foods. And this acid starts from a small area of the female and rotates gradually and gradually. Shooting at further stages may be inevitable. The first signs of gingivitis are bleeding in the gingiva. The gums are more visible with color, deformities and mouth odor. The tooth loss caused by gum inflammation is much more than the tooth loss caused by the bruises. First of all, the healthy gums are light pink in color. It adheres tightly to the bottle and the bum, and has a shiny, lumpy appearance similar to the orange peel. Symptoms of Gum Disease: The first and most important symptom of gum disease is gum bleeding. Healthy gums bleed If you have swollen gums in your teeth, If the gums are pulled and the tenderness on the surface of the root emerges, If black areas appear on the edges of the gums or between the teeth due to tooth stones, If inflammation occurs between the tooth and the gingiva, If the teeth are swinging, extending and extending between the teeth, If there is a constant bad smell and bad taste in the mouth, it is necessary to have a dentist examined before it is too late. In adults, the vast majority of tooth loss results from the gums and the bone surrounding the teeth. Gum disease is caused by bacteria called plaque that adhere to the surface of teeth, in the thickness of the film layer. If the plaque is not cleaned, it turns into dental calculus called tartar (calculus). The accumulation of plates and dental abrasion allows the destructive bacteria to multiply in our mouths, and at the end of the mouth and gums between the teeth and gums called cavities and gingiva occur. Bacteria secrete enzymes that cause bone destruction around the tooth. Finally, the tooth is lost.Tooth cleaning is the basis of the struggle with gum disease. In order to be able to cope with gum disease, plaques, tartars and gums in the pocket of the gums must be removed from the mouth. These harmful occurrences are removed as a result of interference with ultrasonic devices or suitable hand tools. These tools definitely do not harm the toothpaste because they are professional tools for dentists. While cleaning the tooth stones, it is also possible to use air, water and a special cleaning powder that is sprayed. The first objective of tooth cleaning is the removal of plaques, tartars and some diseased tissue. Therefore it is a very useful treatment method to stop the harm. If the gums have already been removed due to the dental implants, the tooth roots will naturally be removed when the dental prosthesis is cleaned. People may assume that their roots are cleared when cleansed. In fact, they are the result of previous bad oral care and withdrawals due to dental abrasions. This is not the end result of cleaning. Good gum hygiene is essential for further removal of gums if operation can not be performed with gum removal. When the dentist is perfecting your smile your gum tissue and contour can be overlooked. Low level lasers are able to sculpt and recontour uneven and excessive gum tissue. Gum Reshaping Also known as gum contouring is a cosmetic form of treatment used to change the appearance of someones teeth. This treatment is used or suggested when someone has what we refer to as a gummy smile. This is when there is too much gum covering the teeth therefore leaving the teeth shorter looking than they seem to be. With a quick and painless treatment we can change your smile in a matter of minutes leaving you with a confidence boosting grin.

Dental Laboratory Technology is both a science and an art. Since each dental patient's needs are different, the duties of a dental laboratory technician are comprehensive and varied. Dental Laboratory Dental Laboratory Technology is both a science and an art. Since each dental patient's needs are different, the duties of a dental laboratory technician are comprehensive and varied. Although dental technicians seldom work directly with patients, except under the direction of a licensed dentist, they are valuable members of the dental care team. They work directly with dentists by following detailed written instructions and using impressions (molds) of the patient's teeth or oral soft tissues to create: full dentures for patients who are missing all of their teeth removable partial dentures or fixed bridges for patients who are missing only one or a few teeth crowns, which are caps for teeth that are designed to restore their original size and shape veneers that enhance the esthetics and function of the patient orthodontic appliances and splints to help straighten and protect teeth Dental technicians work with a variety of materials including waxes, plastics, precious and non-precious alloys, stainless steel, a variety of porcelains and composites or polymer glass combinations. Many technicians acquire skill in the use of sophisticated instruments and equipment while performing laboratory procedures. It is important for the technician to help create tooth replacements that are both attractive and functional. And all of this work is done right here in the dental laboratories. Most dental practitioners outsource their lab work for mass production, which results in limited communication between the members of the restorative team and less optimal results and longer treatment times for patients. At Perfect Dental Clinic, your entire restorative team can efficiently and effectively communicate your needs and work as a team to complete your entire restoration in one place, for faster and better results completely personalized to you. A dental crown or “cap” is a covering that fits over a damaged, decayed or unattractive tooth. It can even replace a tooth entirely as part of dental bridgework. Dental Crown Dentistry is an art as well as a science; dental crowns offer a perfect example of this. A dental crown or “cap” is a covering that fits over a damaged, decayed or unattractive tooth. It can even replace a tooth entirely as part of dental bridgework. A crown completely covers a tooth above the gum line. This is in contrast to a dental veneer, which only covers a tooth's front surface and needs natural tooth structure to support it. Therefore, if a tooth is missing a significant amount of structure above the gum line, a crown would be the restoration of choice. Crowns strengthen damaged teeth, allowing them to function normally again. When crafted from today's high-tech porcelains (dental ceramics), crowns are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. They can even be designed to improve upon a tooth's original appearance. There are other materials besides porcelain that we can use to make dental crowns, depending on what qualities are most important. For durability, cast gold can't be beat. However, this is not always the most aesthetic choice — especially towards the front of the mouth. Other possibilities include porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns (PFM), which have a metal interior for strength and a porcelain exterior for a more natural appearance, and all-porcelain crowns with zirconia, representing the strongest ceramic. We would be happy to discuss the pros and cons of these various options with you. Crowning or Capping a Tooth Crowning or capping a tooth will usually take two to three visits. At the first visit, we will prepare your tooth to receive its new crown. First we will shape it to fit inside the new covering. This will involve some drilling to give the tooth a uniform shape. We will numb the tooth and the surrounding area beforehand. If there is very little tooth structure left to begin with, we may have to build up the tooth with filling material, rather than remove tooth structure, to support the crown. After the tooth is prepared, we will take impressions of your teeth, either digitally or with reliable, putty-like impression materials, and send them to the dental laboratory. There, the impressions will be used to make models of your teeth for the creation of a crown. The models will serve as guides to the highly skilled lab technicians, who will ensure that your new crown is designed to enhance your smile and function well within your bite. Before you leave the office, we will attach a temporary crown to your tooth to protect it until the permanent crown is ready. At the second visit, your permanent crown will be attached to your tooth with either a resin that hardens when exposed to a special light source, or a type of permanent cement.
